BID3 Training
Want to become a BID3 power user? We have a range of learning approaches, from self-taught online learning modules through to instructor led training that allow you to build your skills at your own pace.
Face-to-face
All new customers get face-to-face training included in their BID3 licence, as experience suggests that nothing builds capability faster than having one of our BID3 experts together with your team.
We’ll start you from the basics of Dispatch (day-ahead) simulation, and train you up on the modules so your team can build complete scenarios of the future.
You can then either choose further training units from our modular structure, or start on the self-taught modules.
Remote instructor led sessions
When teams are in different locations, remote sessions provide an effective way to learn together.
Our instructor will guide you through the concepts, get you started on the exercises and be available to share a screen if you get stuck.
Our learning datasets, based around Mythical Lands, provide a range of simple and complex systems to test your skills on.
As a bonus, you can find out what the electricity price will be in Atlantis next year, and work out how to dispatch hydro in Aasgard!
BID3 User Forum
Learning isn’t all about being taught by us: learning from others is just as important.
The regular BID3 Users Forum allows our clients to exchange ideas, find out about best practice and share cool things you’ve done.
Whether it’s scenarios of a future hydrogen economy, complex offshore grids or new market designs, swapping ideas always leads to better understanding!

Self-guided modules
Our online modular training course is perfect for you to work at your own pace, taking you from basic BID3 user and building your knowledge of all the modules.
Short videos build up the concepts, followed by worked examples to grow know-how.
Test cases in our Mythical Lands dataset allow you to try out the concepts, experiment and grow through curiosity.
Finally test yourself on the end of unit quizzes to make sure you have understood!
The online training modules are available to all BID3 customers at no extra cost.
