User Forum 2025: In true BID3 fashion, we descended on Milan for modelling!
This year’s Milan modelling week saw a new debutante take the stage: the House of BID3, strutting its stuff in front of our most discerning clients at the annual User Forum.
We tailored a chic agenda: debuting new algorithms and modules, turning heads with nodal modelling, and serving haute couture GPU processing!
From Duomo to digital, illustrating our creativity with code, in BID3 style we showcased:
- Out with the old and in with the new. Hit the runway with novel upcoming functionalities, everything for hydro, flexibility, price-quantity pairs, and even AI assistance. Fast-fashion? Got a dose of that as well with run-time improvements in Auto Build (capacity expansion)
- Recycle, repurpose, redesign? Even better to re-re-dispatch. We unpacked how the new re-re-dispatch can pair up day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets neatly for all storage and batteries (out)looks
- Want a perfect Insta post? No topic is trending more than negative prices modelling. Our team illustrated how this can be accurately modelled using BID3, designing better PPA projections that fit lost subsidies or PPA payments
- Know the price of everything but the value of nothing? In that case, try modelling water values! We showcased a study that compares BID3’s hydro optimisation in the Nordics to other approaches, with BID3 taking the crown! Then SDDP stole the show for its promising future as a water value algorithm, earning praise for its correlated inflows
- To finish off our fashionistas, we combined the vintage with unconventional avant-garde, awed by presentations on 15-minute market modelling, gas turbine simulations, Nordic Bidding Zone Review outcomes, and even how to save €1tn by 2040
